National Security Research Accelerator (NSRA)

Houston, TX

As a global leader in advanced materials, Rice University was chosen to partner with the Army Research Lab (ARL) to realize their goals for new materials and network technologies. Rice University partnered with Scientia to renovate an existing lab and office suite to accommodate research for a both the RUNSRA and a Chemistry Research Lab for Dr Laszlo Kurti. The facility is intended to be a “showcase” facility to enable research of advanced materials and next-generation wireless networks and RF electronics. The goal of the RUNSRA is to grow ultrapure diamond films and heterostructures of diamond and other materials. The research is intended to occupy the space in Dell Butcher Hall for 4-5 years and eventually relocate to a future Engineering and Science Building on the Rice campus.
